1:48 USS Nicholas (DD 449) operating model by Nico Ottevaere.
Nico Ottevaere, chief petty officer in the Belgian navy, has been building a 1:48 (i.e. 7' 10¼" LOA) radio-controlled model of the first Fletcher-class destroyer, Nicholas. His work includes a scaled gunfire control system, which allows all guns to align with a target tracked by a gun director.
